This is Not Your Parents' Civil Rights Movement

The Black Lives Matter organization has been catapulted to the national spotlight and it is pulling in every form of endorsement.  While an organization is more than its name, it certainly is not less.  With a name like Black Lives Matter it is hard to speak against it.  Yet, because there is more than a name, we need to know what this organization supports and promotes.  In the search to know what Black Lives Matter is aiming for, we find out that this is not the Civil Right Movement of the last several generations.

The main distinction we need to recognize is that the Civil Rights Movement had a basis in the equality of people made in the image of God.  It had a foundation in a reality defined by God, which was extended and applied to public policy.  This is not the case with Black Lives Matter.  Black Lives Matter operates from a position of total individual autonomy, and reality is what any individual imagines it to be.  And the most encouraged and celebrated expressions of autonomy right now are the delusions of sexual independence.  By making these statements, this organization not only sets itself against God, and against the church he has purchased, but also against all black people.  You can’t help black people by promoting lifestyles that will destroy them.

Here are the statements that Black Lives Matter makes about itself from its website.

We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.

We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.

We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.

We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).

While this organization says that you can decide for yourself if you are going to switch from being male to being female, just watch what happens if you say you are going to switch from being white to being black.  Full stop.  Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.  Race is off limits in this identity dream world, as Rachael Dolezal found out when she, a white woman, identified as black back in 2015.  When you step outside a biblical worldview, it will never be consistently applied.  Chaos never plays nice.

Additionally, Black Lives Matter stands against the God-ordained structure of family.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

One last thing to note is this organization conspicuously leaves out one segment of black lives that apparently do not matter to them; unborn black lives.  Ironically, black children in the womb suffer the highest number of fatalities of all black people.  Defunding Planned Parenthood would save countless black lives faster and more effectively than any asinine idea of defunding the police.

If you really want to love black people and see to it that their lives matter in every arena then you cannot support an organization that destroys the reasons why any human would matter.  God defines why people matter, why equality exists, why justice is important, and why sexuality has parameters.  You lose all of that with Black Lives Matter.

If you want love people and seek their best, you have to start with God and obey him fully.  This is what 1 John 5:2 and 2 John 6 says about love.  The church must lead the way in preaching a biblical worldview that explains the foundation for meaning and worth, and a gospel that frees people from sin and empowers them to love, serve, and unite joyfully.

So while Black Lives Matter is seeking to protect and advance the wellbeing of black people, and even asserting some true and good features, by making the above statements they are actually fueling the delusions that destroy black people, and all other people as well.
